Potential impacts of climate interventions on marine ecosystems

On Thursday 16 April 2026, EMB hosted its 59th Third Thursday Science Webinar featuring Kelsey Roberts who presented on the topic of "Potential impacts of climate interventions on marine ecosystems".

This webinar links to EMB Future Science Brief No. 13 'Monitoring, reporting and verification for marine carbon dioxide removal'.

Kelsey Roberts is a full-time Research Associate at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, USA and a part-time Visting Scholar at Cornell University. She has a background in marine ecology and fisheries science, and her current research focuses on quantifying tradeoffs of climate intervention (SRM and mCDR) on marine ecosystems, specifically fisheries and higher trophic levels. She is particularly interested in supporting interdisciplinary communication between ecologists, climate and atmospheric scientists to co-design actionable projections of climate change impacts.
