
In this edition of the ECOP Wednesdays event series, hosted by the EMB Young Ambassadors and the EMB Secretariat for the EMB ECOP network, Ginevra Capurso will speak about "Evidence-based policymaking in marine governance: the role of Science-Policy-Society Interfaces".

Ginevra Capurso is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Marine Sciences of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-ISMAR). After earning a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, she completed a Master of Science in Governance of Sustainability. She has gained experience in EU marine-related policies, with a focus on the protection of marine environments and the impacts of human activities at sea. Her research includes work on the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) and the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreements (SFPAs). She is currently researching the role and contribution of Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) processes in advancing a sustainable blue economy, both nationally and at the European level, through the development and implementation of coherent maritime policies.
Her presentation will cover the approach adopted in the CrossGov Project to analyse Science-Policy-Society Interfaces, as well as the outcomes presented in the final Blueprint.
