This workshop focuses on the relationships between marine environmental health and human health. Speakers will highlight the need for a coordinated oceans and human health research programme in Europe, addressing both benefits and challenges to public health, associated with our interactions with the seas. Furthermore, the workshop will highlight the need for monitoring the marine environment in the context of the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD).
