CommOcean2022 – registration is now open!

Registration is now open for the fifth International Marine Science Communication Conference: CommOCEAN 2022. The two-day event, organized by the European Marine Board Communication Panel and the University of Montpellier, in partnership with the Network of the French Marine Universities and Ifremer, will take place in Sète (France) and online on 30 November and 1 December 2022.

For its first time, the CommOCEAN 2022 conference will have an onsite component in Sète (France), hosted by the University of Montpellier (member of French Marine Universities Network), Ifremer and the MARBEC Research Laboratory, and an online component on Zoom.

The conference will gather many international participants (in Sète or online), specialized or interested in marine science communication, to discuss how to communicate the latest issues facing the ocean, improve their skills, and learn best practices with regards to communicating with the public, peers and governments about ocean science.

The conference aims to build a strong community of marine science communication professionals across the world, and to inspire inventive and effective communication of marine sciences within the science community, to the wider public, and to governments and policy makers. Participants may be either communication professionals or scientists who communicate their own research, or scientific mediation professionals. Most of the participants already understand the broad challenges facing the ocean and are keen to know about the results or impact of marine science communications activities.
