Navigating the Future VI Launch

On Wednesday 23 October 2024, EMB will launch the latest edition of its flagship marine science policy foresight series, Navigating the Future VI.

EMB's flagship Navigating the Future series provides critical periodic foresight and recommendations on emerging marine science topics and needs, as well as associated societal challenges and opportunities.

In October 2022, EMB began working on Navigating the Future VI. NFVI will aim to take a holistic perspective to highlight the science needed to understand the links between the Ocean and the global Earth system, society, and public policy, so that knowledge about the Ocean can take a central role in planning for a sustainable future. In short, it aims to highlight the Ocean’s place in the world. You can find out more about this activity here.

NFVI will be launched in a dedicated hybrid event:

TALK C.E.C is an independent space dedicated to cultural and artistic experiences in the heart of Brussels. Located in the former Demeuldre factory (a listed heritage site), on the border of the European and Matongé districts, they are a veritable laboratory for ideas and experimentation, bringing together art, science, history and contemporary issues. For TALK C.E.C, art has a real power to influence our perception of the world and increase our awareness of it. A genuine medium for reflection, art provides a means of communicating about contemporary social issues, enabling us to take action to change habits and behaviour. At TALK C.E.C., the spectator is the creator of his or her own experience, encouraging reflection, awareness and commitment.
