EMB held it's Autumn Plenary meeting in Berlin

On Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 November 2019, European Marine Board members and invited guests attend the EMB Autumn Plenary meeting, hosted by the German Marine Research Consortium KDM, at the WissenschaftsForum in Berlin. EMB is pleased to announce that the Stazione Zoologica di Napoli 'Anton Dorhn' joined the European Marine Board, becoming EMB's 34th member organisation.

The EMB General Assembly and Science Session took place on Tuesday 5 November in which the members reviewed EMB Governance & Operations, approved the Budget for the year 2020, and discussed the progress on EMB Working Groups and approved to launch a new Working Group on Underwater Noise, to be established early next year.

On Wednesday morning 6 November, an Open Session was organized together with the EurOcean Foundation to celebrate the launch of EMB's most recent position paper: PP25 European Research Vessels with some interesting presentations on the future of the European Research Fleet from Per Nieuwejaar, Stephen Hall, Giuseppe Magnifico and Kevin Forshaw. Furthermore, both netwoks explored how we can jointly contribute the Decade of Ocean Science. For this purpose, Salvatore Aricó from IOC-UNESCO had joined the EMB members to provide some latest insight on the Ocean Decade.
